Making a Selection

Before selecting a type of marijuana seed genome there are many things you need to know first. You need to know which strain and type are suitable for your needs because there are many varieties available.

Seeds Strains

Cannabis seed genetics are classified as either indica or sativa strains. Indica's produce plants that are normally used for medicinal purposes because they have low THC content but are high in CBD content. This variety has been scientifically proven to be beneficial for treating depression and anxiety as well as many other conditions and ailments. Sativa' produce plants that contain high THC and low CBD content and as such they are good at treating chronic pain. Many strains are hybrid seeds which are a combination of indica and sativa strains and will provide a very good ratio of THC and CBD content.

Seed Types

Cannabis seed genetics can be grouped into various classifications such as feminised, medical or regular varieties. Regular seeds produce male and female plants and our research indicates this is at about 50-60% female. The advantage of regular seeds is that they are far more stable than other types and therefore in accordance with our seed preservation philosophy are the best type to research.

Growing Marijuana

Cannabis seeds are normally purchased to be grown indoors or outdoors but since that is currently not legal in most Australian States and Territories without the relevant licences from the Office of Drug Control (ODC) we recommend selecting seeds for research purposes only. However, when an application for a cultivators licence is approved from the ODC the licencee needs to decide whether they want to grow indoors or outdoors. Fortunately most marijuana seed strains are suitable for growing in both environments. So research different types of seeds and prepare yourself for the legalisation or decriminalisation of growing in Australia, it's just a matter of time.
